Affiliate disclosure
How CanadaGamblers earns money and why that does not buy a ranking.
This disclosure is written to satisfy Canadian material-connection guidance, deceptive-marketing law, CASL identification requirements, and AGCO Standard 2.05 in Ontario.
What an affiliate relationship is
CanadaGamblers earns commissions from some online-gambling operators when a reader clicks a tracked link from our site, registers an account with that operator, and in most cases deposits or wagers a qualifying amount.
These commissions fund editorial work, hosting, and complaint mediation. We do not charge readers. The Competition Bureau of Canada calls this a material connection, and Canadian guidance requires that we disclose it in plain language wherever a reasonable reader could be influenced by it.
Which links are affiliate links
Every link on CanadaGamblers that points to an operator website is treated as a potential affiliate link, even when no commission is currently earned. This means we apply the same disclosure standard everywhere.
Operators we have affiliate relationships with
Commission type only. We do not publish specific dollar amounts. Province availability reflects where the operator currently accepts Canadian players; it is not an inducement to register.
Updated within 7 days of any change. Dollar amounts are not disclosed; only commission type is shown.
Ranking independence
Commission rates do not influence rankings. Rankings are produced by our editorial scoring rubrics, using signals such as regulatory standing, Interac payout speed, complaint resolution rate, bonus terms quality outside Ontario, and user reviews.
When two operators tie on the rubric, ties are broken alphabetically, not by commission.
Negative reviews of affiliate partners
CanadaGamblers publishes negative reviews and complaints involving operators we have affiliate relationships with. The affiliate relationship is not a disqualifier for negative coverage.
If an operator pressures CanadaGamblers to remove negative coverage, we refuse and flag the pressure attempt on the operator review page.
How readers can verify
- Read the methodology page.
- Compare the public commission disclosures against live rankings.
- File a complaint if you believe a ranking is commercially influenced.
Commission types
We disclose commission types per operator: CPA, revenue share, hybrid, or flat fee. We do not disclose specific dollar amounts because those are governed by NDA.
Sponsored placements vs. editorial content
Where an operator has paid for a sponsored placement, the placement is labeled Sponsored or Ad. Sponsored placements never appear inside ranking lists, review bodies, or complaint records.
In the Ontario context, sponsored placements that reference welcome bonuses, free bets, free spins, or similar inducements are not rendered at all under AGCO Standard 2.05.
Reader options
- Search the operator name directly in your browser.
- Use the bare-domain link in the operator footer entry on the about page.
Either option removes CanadaGamblers from the commercial chain. Your editorial use of the site is unaffected.
Compliance
This disclosure is written to satisfy:
Disclosure of material connections in influencer and affiliate marketing.
Prohibition on materially false or misleading representations.
Identification and unsubscribe-mechanism requirements for affiliate-related commercial electronic messages.
Bonus-advertising restriction in the Ontario context; CanadaGamblers omits bonus and inducement content.
Operator console surfaces
The operator-facing console is covered by the same independence claim that governs the public site. Complaint mediation, case-closure decisions, and resolution summaries are not affected by any commercial relationship with the operator.
The console has no verified partner badge, premium tier, or any other paid-for trust signal.
